About Us
Baer Bros Maple Camp is located in Somerset County Pennsylvania within our beautiful maple woods. Originally, Baer Bros Maple Camp was on the Baer’s farm beginning in the mid 1900s as a source of syrup for personal consumption and for trading. In 1971 the camp began to morph into what it is today under the ownership of George and Bonnie Baer and their family. The camp was operated by the Baers, their family, friends, and neighboring farmers. In 2009 Mike and Sherry Lynch, neighbors and friends for many years took over the maple camp. Mike and George had a long relationship as they have known each other since early childhood, so George knew the business was in good hands. Even though ownership may have changed many of the same faces are still present today, and all the same, comradery still exits.
Today they are producing about 2,000-3,000 gallons of 100% Pure Maple syrup a year and show no signs of slowing down. They continue the tradition of making maple syrup and other products as it has been done for many years. Some knowledge just cannot come from a book, it has to come from experience and tenacity.
